I feel that this movie series could define my generation because a lot of people grew up with these movies and these books, and as the characters changed I feel that we did too. We went from "wand battles" to actually trying to figure things out like Harry had too. Everyone had their favorite characters and everyone tried to be a certain character. The characters were easy to relate to, for example Harry shows us that we need to be courageous and to face our fears head on. Hermione shows us that it's okay to be a little nerdy but mainly that being smart and studying helps you to know things in time of need. Ron shows that even though you have fears, you can try and put those aside and stand up to your enemies. But the main thing that I liked that these characters showed, and not just these three but mostly all of them, friendship is possible between anyone even if your in a different "house." This movie has changed a lot of lives and has shown a lot of people different messages. I just can't believe how many people around the world have fallen in love with this series, book and movie, and how crazy of a fanbase it actually has. I also feel like it defines our generation because of how many people were said when the series was over, I know I was. I've seen this picture all over and I thought that it really helps with why I think this movie could define our generation.
hermonie is one of the best young female role models of this century and both my nieces just love this stuff, I think every body who thinks this is about worshiping satan need to study their history books more and learn that he was the god who gave man fire. Did you know one of my favorite quotes from thomas jefferson is about him? it goes -question everything? Even if god is real for if he is i should think he would rather us wonderng were the thunder&lighting come from and not just hidding in a cave afraid, the other thing is they have a christmas party so how are they evil? I love to laugh at bible thumpers who put this down besides I helped hand raise a barn owl when I was fifteen and i saw him/her till i was twenty his/her baby's are still in my freind barn. Magic like love,fire,and money is a great slave but a poor master. ps even at my age I think the hermonie would make a great menber of a study group,and I love how well the actess who plays her is not trying to tramp out like so many other young famous ladies did.I would bet half the farm as my grandama usta say, in fifty years she will still be acting in flims [what ever happened to sara,hillery,and the girl from even stevens?
ReplyDeleteI really liked your analysis of Harry Potter as a defining film for our generation. While I chose a different series of films, I do think that Harry Potter definitely has become a unifying series both in literary and cinematic terms. I think the messages of good vs. evil, teamwork, friendship, and courage are all good lessons that kids need to learn. What better way than to learn these than through their favorite book and movie characters? In addition to Harry Potter, I would also say Lord of the Rings could also be another film/book series that teaches similar lessons.
ReplyDeleteThis film truly touched bases with all kinds of people. for those who say harry potter was only enjyoed by the nerds don't really know what they are talking about. I never ever regarded myself as too cool to watch this movie because i think it was one of the movie that truly defined our generation and i think it will forever be remembered to the likes of titanic, avatar, twilight, and the lord of the rings.
